The ebony finish is richer in person

I was a bit worried the glass would feel flimsy, but the turned wood base gives it a nice heft and the whole thing looks great on my mantel. The handle is smooth and makes it easy to carry around if I want to move it for a dinner party.

The wood base feels heavier and sturdier than I expected, which keeps it stable even when I carry it half-full of water. I've been using mine on the patio during dinners and the warm glow through the glass is exactly what I wanted.
