Bokhara, an intricate and vibrant design that draws upon the rich history of the ancient Silk Road. Inspired by the lush textiles of the desert oases of Bokhara, Samarkand, and Kashgar in the 19th century, this pattern was first introduced to the GP&J Baker archive in 1906.
The intricate Bokhara pattern feels even more vibrant in person, and the 16cm size is perfect for a bedside table lamp. The gathered linen has a nice, textured weight that catches the light surprisingly well.
The colors shift beautifully as light passes through the linen, and the 16cm size fits perfectly on my small bedside lamp. It’s genuinely like having a miniature piece of Silk Road history glowing in the corner of my room.
The pattern on this shade is even more intricate in person, with those deep green and blue tones shifting depending on the light in the room. It’s already turned my plain reading lamp into the focal point of the corner, exactly the Silk Road vibe I was hoping for.
