Tuffley was designed in the mid-19th century and was originally created for clothing textiles, reflecting the growing fascination with natural motifs during the era. This design, codenamed 'seaweed' in the design studio captures the essence of organic forms and nature-inspired beauty.
The fabric pattern on this shade is even more striking in person, with the seaweed motif catching the light beautifully at dusk. It's a generous 30cm size, so it makes a proper statement on our sideboard without overwhelming the room.
The cotton fabric has this beautiful hand-feel that you don't see on modern shades, and the aqua red pattern really pops when the light's on. It's like having a little piece of Victorian botanical art in the room—I keep catching myself just staring at the gathered texture.
