Dotty is a true testament to GP&J Baker’s expansive and eclectic archive and takes it’s cue from an 1810 vesting pattern. Dotty’s long history stretches back to ancient India where it first emerged as a symbol of life and prosperity. Now updated in a range of delicious and complementary colourways.
The blue and white block print is so crisp and detailed that it catches light beautifully when the lamp's on, and the gathered cotton gives it a soft, romantic shape. It's a bit pricey, but the quality of the fabric feels genuinely special and well-made.
The pattern feels like something from an old textile archive, and the blue tones are rich without being heavy. It casts a lovely warm glow when lit, and the cotton is sturdy with neat stitching throughout. This is exactly what I hoped for when redecorating the reading nook.
The blue and white block print is even crisper in person, and the gathered cotton gives it a soft, tailored look that dresses up my plain floor lamp. The 30cm size sits perfectly on the base, and the empire shape throws a lovely, warm glow in the evenings.
