Dotty is a true testament to GP&J Baker’s expansive and eclectic archive and takes it’s cue from an 1810 vesting pattern. Dotty’s long history stretches back to ancient India where it first emerged as a symbol of life and prosperity. Now updated in a range of delicious and complementary colourways.
The pattern is so crisp and the green shade is exactly the rich, archival tone I hoped for—it anchors the whole corner of my living room. Fits my 30cm base perfectly and the gathered fabric diffuses light beautifully at night.
The gathered cotton gives it a soft, tailored look that feels far more expensive than it was. It throws a lovely warm pattern across the ceiling when lit, and the 30cm size sits perfectly above my bedside table.
The green and white block print is crisper in person than in the photos, and the gathered cotton gives it a nice soft texture when you run your hand over it. Fits a standard lamp base without wobble, though I wish the 30cm diameter was slightly larger for my reading corner.
