Tuffley is ontworpen in het midden van de 19e eeuw en oorspronkelijk bedoeld voor kledingtextiel, wat de groeiende fascinatie voor natuurlijke motieven in die tijd weerspiegelt. Dit ontwerp, in de ontwerpstudio de codenaam 'zeewier' dragend, vangt de essentie van organische vormen en door de natuur geïnspireerde schoonheid.
The fabric has this lovely woven texture that catches the light differently depending on the time of day, and the seaweed pattern feels almost botanical in person. It’s made the whole corner of my living room feel softer and more finished, exactly the look I was after for my reading nook.
The green-blue tones are exactly what I hoped for, and the cotton has a lovely matte finish that makes the seaweed print feel almost painterly. It sits perfectly on my lamp base and casts a warm, diffused glow that transforms the whole corner of the room.
The seaweed pattern is even more intricate in person, with those soft blue-green tones shifting beautifully as the light hits the cotton. It throws a warm, gentle glow across the room, and the 25cm scale feels just right on our dining table.
