Tuffley was designed in the mid-19th century and was originally created for clothing textiles, reflecting the growing fascination with natural motifs during the era. This design, codenamed 'seaweed' in the design studio captures the essence of organic forms and nature-inspired beauty.
The shade gives off such a warm, soft light through that denim cotton, and the seaweed motif feels more like a subtle texture than a loud pattern from across the room. I’ve had it up for a week now and keep catching myself staring at the fabric’s depth when the lamp’s on.
The seaweed pattern in this denim cotton is so much richer in person—the deep blue really makes the intricate fronds pop when the lamp’s on. It sits perfectly on the fitting and the 20cm size is just right for my bedside table, giving off a warm, soft glow.
The seam is perfectly straight and the denim cotton has a subtle texture that looks far more expensive than it is. It throws a warm, even glow at night that completely transformed my reading corner.
