Dotty is a true testament to GP&J Baker’s expansive and eclectic archive and takes it’s cue from an 1810 vesting pattern. Dotty’s long history stretches back to ancient India where it first emerged as a symbol of life and prosperity. Now updated in a range of delicious and complementary colourways.
The dot pattern feels straight out of a vintage textile archive, and the red and blue contrast pops beautifully against the gathered cotton. It throws a warm, diffused glow in my hallway that transforms the whole space, and the 35cm size is just right for the lamp base I paired it with.
The cotton fabric feels substantial and smooth to the touch, and the gathered pleats sit perfectly evenly around the 35cm frame. It’s cast a lovely warm patterned glow in my hallway, and the 1810-inspired print looks far more expensive than what I paid.
The muted blue and red pattern looks even richer in person, and the cotton has a lovely, soft hand that drapes perfectly over the frame. It casts a warm, diffused glow that completely changed the mood of my reading corner, and the 35cm size feels just right for the space.
