Picked this up for camping trips, and the turned wooden base gives it a much sturdier feel than the typical glass-only lanterns I've tried before. It handles a light breeze just fine, exactly as described. Really glad I got the ebony finish—it looks great even sitting on the porch.
The ebony finish looks nice on the shelf, and the turned base feels sturdy enough. It works fine on a calm patio, but I wish the glass was a bit thicker for real windy nights.
